When the Post-Dispatch set out to pick the Top 50 players in Blues' history, there was one goal: to choose the ones who wore the Blue Note best. This is not a list of the most talented players in NHL history who played here briefly toward the end of their career, so you will not see Wayne Gretzky, Martin Brodeur, Doug Harvey or Guy Lapointe. Instead, we have compiled a group that features many for their production, some for their longevity and a few for their popularity.
A panel of nearly a dozen former Blues players and past and present media who covered the club submitted their own lists, which were heavily used to come up with the final selections.
