Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria

Over the past year, I happened to eat at both the original Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria in Rock Hill and the newer location of Katie and Ted Collier’s restaurant in Town and Country, so I can vouch for a quality meal at both places. I can also vouch for the pasta as well as the pizza. The bucatini in black-garlic butter with pancetta, Swiss chard, pecorino and an egg that I ate there this past winter was one of the best pasta dishes I ate all year, deeply savory with a beguiling tangy-sweet note. Nearly as stunning was the appetizer that preceded the bucatini: Alaskan spot prawns finished in ‘nduja butter served on toast with orange labneh, Calabrese peppers, cilantro and smoked sea salt.
