All Bark Village

This city dog park includes areas for large and small dogs, water source, and a shaded structure. The park hosts events like dog Easter egg hunts and dog park birthday parties. The park is located near Kade's Playground, an all-inclusive playground where children with disabilities can play.

Alton Dog Park at Russell Commons Park

Discovery Parkway off Route 143, Alton, IL 62002

Three separate dog runs along with obstacles and play stations. Visit city hall or the marina near the park for an application or a daily pass.

Bar K St. Louis

4565 McCree Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110

This huge, dog-friendly facility opened in Nov. 2021, and includes indoor and outdoor areas for dogs, bars and a restaurant, grooming and boarding services, a stage for live music, free wifi, and more. Bar K also has a location in Kansas City and broke ground on one in Oklahoma City in fall 2021.

Belleville Dog Park at Rotary Park

110 North Sixth Street, Belleville, IL 62220

This park has a gated entrance system, drinking water, a pavilion, waste bags, some small hills, fenced-in areas for large and small dogs, agility equipment, benches, and shade structures. Debbie Belleville, the parks and recreation director in Belleville, says the park is popular, and members like being able to walk to the nearby parks department office to renew memberships. “Really, this dog park put Rotary Park back on the map,” she says.

Benton Park Dog Park

Located inside the Benton Park neighborhood's Fremont Park, this small dog park opened in May 2019.

Benton Park West Dog Park/Cherokee Dog Park

Brent Leh Dog Park

West Schwarz and Olive streets, Edwardsville, IL 62025

This park opened in August 2018 and includes a combination of synthetic and natural turf, agility equipment, a water fountain and benches.

Brentwood Dog Park

610 Hanley Industrial Court, Brentwood, MO 63144

This park has separate areas for large and small dogs and is located in Hanley Park, which has a pavilion.

Broemmelsiek Park

1795 Highway DD, Defiance, MO 63341

You and your dog can roam nearly 5 acres here, and better yet, it’s free. There’s a covered shelter, a grove of shade trees and small pond with a dock where your doggy can practice his paddle. If you want a smaller park and want to stay in St. Charles County, check out the free 1½-acre dog park at Quail Ridge Park or the 2½-acre dog park at Veterans Tribute Park in Weldon Spring.

Buddy's Place Dog Park

2153 Highway 109 Wildwood, MO 63038

This park, inside Wildwood’s Community Park, has areas for small and large dogs, with shade, picnic tables, benches, a water source and mulch surface. The dog park is located across from a large, woodland-themed playground with access to a creek. The park is named after Buddy, a search and rescue yellow labrador retriever who worked with the Metro West Fire Protection District and logged more than 200 missions.

Canine Country Kennel and Farm

10102 Highway DD, Wentzville, MO 63385

This one runs on the pricey side, but it’s the ultimate doggy paradise. It’s 223 acres in all with three enclosed 20-acre meadows. Your dog can swim in the 3-acre lake, dive off the dock, navigate Dardenne Creek, walk the trails and try the agility equipment. Trainers and kennel services are available. William Dierberg, a retired veterinarian who owns the business, says the place is ideal for people who seek solitude with their dogs and don’t necessarily like the socialization of a dog park. “It’s not because we’re better; we’re different,” he says.

Clayton Dog Park

8275 Clayton Road, Clayton, MO 63105

The dog park within Anderson Park includes areas for large and small dogs, benches, water fountains, splash pools and a small tunnel under a small hill. Crushed granite and grass surfaces.This park has reopened after recent reconstruction.

Collinsville Mutts on Main

509 West Main Street, Collinsville, IL 62234

This smaller park maintained by the city of Collinsville has water access, a paved area and a picnic bench. It’s free, but owners must register their pets.

Creve Coeur Dog Park

12301 Conway Road, Creve Coeur, MO 63141

This dog park within Conway Park includes a 2-acre area for large dogs and a one-half-acre area for dogs smaller than 30 pounds.

The Doghaus Dog Park Bar

1800 South 10th Street, St. Louis, MO 63104

Don Yarber Bark Park at Legacy Park

Includes sections for small dogs and puppies and for large dogs. The dog park is located within Legacy Park, which includes a playground, lakes and pavilions.

DuSable Dog Park

Jean Baptist Point DuSable Park, 2300 North Main Street, St. Charles, MO 63301

The park is divided into three sections; two of them are rotated between large and small dogs and to prevent wear and tear on the grass. The park contains a shelter and restrooms that are open from April through November.

Eberwein Dog Park

1627 Old Baxter Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017

This dog park includes separate areas for large and small dogs. It's located at Eberwein Park, which includes a playground, trail and a native prairie garden.

Ellisville Dog Park

225 Kiefer Creek Road, Ellisville, MO 63021

This dog park, located at Bluebird Park, has areas for large and small dogs, benches and water access.

Eureka Dog Park

401 Forby Road, Eureka, MO 63025

This dog park opened in spring 2018 has a small and large dog area along with benches, water fountains for humans and dogs and agility equipment in both sides of the park. It's a subfacily of Berry Park, which has a playground, trails, and a pavilion.

Ferd B. Lang Park

1820 Old Lemay Ferry Road, Arnold, MO 63010

Fenced with separate areas for large and small dogs, with a dog water fountain and other amenities available. The dog park is located within Ferd B. Lang Park, which includes a playground, trails, ball fields and restrooms.

Florissant Dog Park at Duchesne Park

5 Brower Lane, Florissant, MO 63031

Only dogs registered with the Florissant Dog Park Club are allowed. Bring vaccination records to JFK or JJE community centers to register. The park is located at Duchesne Park, which includes restrooms, a playground, and a pavilion.

Forest Park Southeast Dog Park

4359 Chouteau Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110

The Forest Park Southeast Dog Park has been closed temporarily, as of January 2023.This dog park inside Chouteau Park includes a double gated entry area, water station for humans and dogs, and waste pickup and disposal stations. Members only.

Fox Park Dog Park

Shenandoah and California avenues, St. Louis, MO 63104

Nestled between the ballfields and playground, this enclosed, L-shaped dog park runs the length of Fox Park, giving your dog room to run. The park includes benches, water, agility obstacles and shade. A nearby playground for children includes a splash pad.

Frenchtown Dog Park

Emmet Street, St. Louis, MO 63104

This enclosed Soulard dog park hosts special events like a HOWL-oween Pup Crawl, pictures with Santa and yappy hours.

Happy Hounds Playground

2448 Pond Road, Grover, MO 63040

This private park features fenced-in areas for large and small dogs, a lake with a jumping dock and beach, nature trails, splash pads, playground equipment, restrooms, organized breed play dates and paw-washing stations.

Highland Jaycees Dog Park

2548 Veterans Honor Parkway, Highland, IL 62249

The enclosed park is split into areas for large and small dogs, with agility equipment and benches for humans.

Joe Glik Park

710 East Lake Drive, Edwardsville, IL 62025

One enclosed area with several trees, a bench and a nonfunctioning fire hydrant.

Kitun Dog Park

Separate areas for large and small dogs and a separate smaller area for training.

Laclede’s Landing Dog Park

335 Martin Luther King Drive, St. Louis, MO 63102

Recently renovated, the park includes water, benches, toys, a double-gate entry system and a “selfie station” with a scenic Gateway Arch background.

Lakeview Park

1400 Lakeview Drive, Waterloo, IL

This enclosed area for dogs opened in 2016 and is open from dawn to dusk. Sections for small, large, and shy/nonsocialized dogs each have a covered bench and table and water. Lakeview Park itself occupies about 100 acres and includes three lakes and a playground.

Lucas Park Dog Park

St. Charles and 13th streets, St. Louis, MO 63103

This small, long park within Lucas Park downtown opened in 2010 and was renovated in 2015. It has artificial turf, a tunnel and benches, and is next to a playground and fitness station.

Maplewood Dog Park

2531 Circle Drive, Maplewood, MO 63143

Located next to a soccer field in Kellogg Park, this dog park has agility obstacles, water, a pool/splash pad, benches and a wood-chip surface.

Maryland Heights Dogport

2490 McKelvey Woods Court, Maryland Heights, MO 63043

This park has separate areas for large and small dogs. It also hosts events like a bone hunt and bark and brew.

Melvin Price Park

1500 Caseyville Avenue, Swansea, IL 62226

This park has a water source for dogs and humans, plus a pavilion, benches, and areas for large and small dogs.

Miner Park

194 South Main Street, Glen Carbon, IL 62034

Enclosed area includes benches and is within Miner Park, which has a playground, pavilions and ballfields.

O'Fallon Dog Park at Rock Springs Park

1428 East Third Street, O'Fallon, IL 62269

The enclosed area for dogs includes agility obstacles, a pavilion, benches and a walking trail, within Rock Springs Park.

Olivette Dog Park at Irv Zeid Park

9100 Old Bonhomme Road, Olivette, MO 63132

As of Jan. 2023, the park is closed for reconstruction. All users must be members, and resident dogs must be registered with the city. The dog park is located at Irv Zeid Park, which includes ballfields, a pavilion, restrooms and picnic tables.

Ozark Drive Paw Park

1839 Ozark Drive, Arnold, MO 63010

This newer park is divided into two areas for large and small dogs and is also accessible from Ferd B. Lang park via a new ½-mile walking trail. It offers a dog water fountain and other amenities.

Quail Ridge Park

5501 Quail Ridge Trail, Wentzville, MO 63385

Park has separate areas for large and small dogs, a shelter and water. The dog park is located at Quail Ridge Park, which includes more than 7 miles of trails and the National Horseshoe Pitchers Hall of Fame.

Shaw Dog Park

4101 Cleveland Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110

Located in the heart of the historic Shaw neighborhood, this dog park includes water on site, benches, locked entry system and crushed-granite surface.

Shiloh Dog Park

3756 Lebanon Avenue, Belleville, IL 62221

This dog park has a drinking fountain, pavilion, and areas for large and small dogs.

SLU Dog Park and Ellen Clark Sculpture Garden

1 North Grand Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63103

Several colorful sculptures by Brother Mel Meyer are inside this fenced-in park, which became an unofficial dog destination before the sculptures showed up. The park has benches and picnic tables and is closed Dec. 15 through March 15. During its open season, it’s accessible 24 hours a day, Thursday through Sunday. Be sure to feed the meters when you park. Otherwise, it’s free.

South Point Bark Park

101 Kingsland Drive, Washington, MO

Established in 2017 near the banks of the Missouri River, this dog park has separate fenced areas for large and small dogs and a dog water fountain.

Southwest City Dog Park in Willmore Park

6415 Jamieson Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63109

This park features a pool pad, agility equipment, benches, tables and water stations. It includes dog pools between June and October and a straw climbing maze and winter shelter between November and March. It hosts play-date events and Halloween parties and has a strong volunteer group.

St. Johns Community Dog Park

11333 St. John Church Road, St. Louis, MO 63123

In September 2018, St. Johns United Church of Christ opened a community dog park on its property, and the park has become a popular place for people and dogs to meet. The park includes shade trees, benches, picnic tables, and areas for large and small dogs.

St. Peters Rotary Club Dog Park

1000 Lakeside Park Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376

We give this park points for its reasonable rates and for a fun location that includes a floating platform for jumping into the 140-acre lake at 370 Lakeside Park, which includes an RV park and 5 miles of walking trails. The park is long, so dogs can get in some good sprints. There are areas for large and small dogs, a year-round water source for drinking and cleaning, a pavilion and obstacles where dogs to test their agility. The park hosts “b’egg” hunts and “Howloween” costume events. Member dogs get background checks and a photo ID.

Tails and Trails at Queeny Park

550 Weidman Road, Ballwin, MO 63131

This park has reasonable fees ($60 yearly, $6 for a day pass) and amenities such as watering stations, water features, agility obstacles, areas for large and small dogs, and a pavilion with electrical access.

Treecourt Unleashed Dog Adventure Park

2499 Marshall Road, St. Louis, MO 63122

Another park where you’ll pay a little more for the privilege, but your dog can roam its 11 acres and enjoy the shade trees and open areas for playing fetch. This enclosed park has walking trails, large shade trees, and open areas for running and playing fetch. Wayne Hubb, owner of Treecourt, says the park attracts a nice group of people who simply enjoy spending time with their dogs. “I enjoy seeing the dogs enjoy the space,” he says. “A lot of dogs will start off very fearful, and it becomes a really great thing for them.” The park is just east of Valley Park, on the grounds of the old Treecourt swim club. University City Dog Park

6860 Vernon Avenue, University City, MO 63130

This park, which was developed in 2002 on a flood plain, is one of the area’s first dog parks, and it’s since won a few awards. It has three play areas, obstacles, benches, water fountains and splash areas, heated dog bowls, concrete walkways, and lighting for nighttime or predawn visits. Bill Couch of Ballwin is one of its founding members. “People come up here first off because of their pets, after they start to build bonds, they talk about this and that,” he says. “Over time, people develop friendships, and it’s all because of the park.”

Veterans Tribute Park

101 Kisker Road, St. Charles, MO 63304

This dog park, which has areas for small and large dogs, is part of the Veterans Tribute Park, which opened in October 2018. Water is available outside the main fence. The park is in a residential area and includes a playground for children of all abilities, paved trails, fishing lakes, a boardwalk and picnic shelters.

The Water Tower Dog Park

1700 South Grand Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63104

This smaller fenced in area in Compton Hill Reservoir Park reopened in Feb. 2021 after being closed for several years. The dog park is located next to a playground, and the path along the top of the water tower reservoir is a great place to walk your dog.

Wayside Park Unleashed Dog Park

1026 Chambers Road, Ferguson, MO 63135

The 1-acre dog park, with areas for large and small dogs, sits on 7 acres that include green space, parking and more.

Woodson Road Dog Park

1655 Woodson Road, Overland, MO 63114

The fenced park is divided into rotating areas for small and large dogs. It's located at Woodson Road Park, which includes tennis courts, a playground, a picnic area and restrooms.

Worthen Park Dog Park

2599 Parkview Drive, Granite City, IL 62040

Opened in Dec. 2020, this dog park at Worthen Park next to the school district building features areas for small and large dogs.
