Andre Hutson

Andre Hutson, 38, was found dead in the 1700 block of Wayne Lanter Avenue in Madison after the report of a shooting at 11:48 p.m. Madison officials asked the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis to handle the investigation. Larry D. Lovett, 42, was convicted in March 2024 of first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon in the case. He was sentenced to 75 years in prison. Lovett's co-defendant, William A. Jenkins, was sentenced in 2022 to 75 years in prison after he was convicted of first-degree murder. Prosecutors presented DNA evidence, GPS data and text messages between Lovett and a co-defendant to make the case that Lovett planned to rob Hutson on Dec. 7, 2021, outside of a home in the 1700 block of Wayne Lanter Avenue.
