Clarence Richard

A man was shot midday on Monday in the Fairground neighborhood and was later pronounced deceased. Police responded to a shooting call in the 4300 block of Prairie Avenue about 12:30 p.m. and found Clarence Richard, 54, inside a residence with a gunshot wound, unconscious and not breathing. Paramedics later pronounced him dead at the scene. According to police, Richard was shot after he and another person struggled over a firearm. Police later classified Richard's death as a justifiable homicide. Richard lived in the 2100 block of Edwards Street.
