University City police officers responded to the 7500 block of Liberty for a shooting reported by a homeowner. Police found a man who was dead inside a detached garage. The homeowner said he had confronted the man in the garage and a struggle took place. The homeowner told police that he fired his weapon in self-defense, and the suspect was fatally shot. Prosecutors declined to file charges in the case.
