Korey Davidson

Korey Davidson, 22, died after he was shot in an apartment in the 1400 block of Castle Lane in the Peabody-Darst-Webbe neighborhood. Davidson lived in an apartment there with Breunshaye McKinney, 33, and their 2-year-old son. When police arrived, Davidson was dead of a single gunshot wound to the back. McKinney told officers her son accidentally shot Davidson. But testing revealed the 2-year-old had no gunshot residue on his hands or clothes. McKinney did, police said. And the firearm used to kill Davidson was heavy. The AK-style gun weighed about 9 pounds and had a trigger pull weight of 5½ pounds, police said.
