Dontrez Green Jr.

A baby who was born when his mom was shot in May and lived for just one month died by homicide, authorities said Friday. Dontrez Green Jr. was born by emergency C-section when his mom and three others were shot May 5 in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood. Two of the victims were killed. Green was born with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead on June 11. The St. Louis Medical Examiner's Office determined this week that his manner of death was homicide. Both girls who survived the shooting, including Green's mother, were pregnant 17-year-olds. The two women who died were identified as 18-year-olds Aaliyah Gillom and Asia Baker, both of unincorporated north St. Louis County. Eddie M. Love, 36, faces seven federal charges in the shooting, including discharging a gun during a drug trafficking crime resulting in death. Authorities said at the time Love picked the victims up in north St. Louis County, and he and another man drove them south into the city and made them wait in the car while the two men went inside an apartment building for a drug deal. When the men tried to do the same thing at another location, charging documents say, one of the 18-year-olds got upset and began arguing with Love. The four victims tried to walk away from the car, but Love opened fire, authorities say. Green's mother was 30 weeks pregnant at the time. The other teen was 10 weeks pregnant.
