Douglas Sanders, 31, died in a hospital after being shot March 4 on the McKinley Bridge as he and four others returned from a strip club in Illinois. Sanders lived on Pamela Drive in Florissant. St. Louis prosecutors charged Brandon Lawrence Allen, 34, with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action in the case. He lives in the 900 block of New Haven Court in St. Louis. Police said Allen killed Sanders and critically injured another man after chasing the victims' car from Roxy's night club in the Metro East. Sanders was was shot in the back of the head as he rode in the backseat. Another man in the car with Sanders was also hit by gunfire. That victim, 37, was critically injured and spent weeks recovering in the hospital, police said. Authorities said the shooting stemmed from a dispute at Roxy's, but haven't explained what it was about.
