One man was killed, two people were injured in a barrage of gunfire that erupted early Saturday night just a few blocks from a St. Louis police patrol station. The 24-year-old gunshot victim, later identified as Edward Brown, lay dead in a gangway in the 2800 block of Gamble Street following the 6 p.m. shooting. Another man, shot in the foot, and a woman, shot in the leg, were taken to the hospital, said St. Louis police Lt. Col. Renee Kriesmann. Kreismann said a dark vehicle fled the area immediately after the shooting. The shooting happened along a strip of apartments where a lot of young families live in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. The enormous new campus for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is being built nearby.
