Jeffrey Paine Jr.

Brian Hill III, of Belleville, and Jeffrey Paine Jr., of Cahokia Heights, died in a triple shooting outside a nightclub early Monday in Cahokia Heights. Cahokia Heights police said the two who died were friends and were shot near Teddy's Ju Joint, at 7400 Old Missouri Avenue. Hill was shot several times. He was found in grass about 12:15 a.m. Monday near the parking lot of the Centreville Church of Christ, which is across the street from the nightclub. Medics took Hill to a hospital, where he died. He was 26. As police and medics were helping Hill outside the church, they learned that two other shooting victims turned up at Touchette Regional Hospital nearby. Paine, who was shot once, went to the hospital in a private vehicle. He died at the hospital. He was 38. A third man was also shot but survived.
