Karl Schuhe

The man who shot at St. Louis County police officers responding to a domestic incident last week in Affton in South County has died, police said Sunday. Karl Schuhe, 59, died around 11 p.m. Saturday at a local hospital, according to a release. No other details were released. On Sept. 20, police were called just after 7 p.m. to the 9100 block of Rambler Drive, near MacKenzie and Gravois roads, and were told the man had a gun and was threatening to harm police. The man was sitting on a porch with a gun in each hand when police arrived. Police tried to talk with him, but when he raised one of the guns, he and two officers exchanged gunfire. Schuhe was struck once in what police described at the time as a life-threatening injury. Police found a revolver and a semiautomatic pistol next to Schuhe. The shooting was captured on cellphone video and officer body-worn cameras, police said.
