A man and woman were shot dead Tuesday afternoon just blocks from each other in East St. Louis, and investigators believe their killings are related. Officers were called just after 2 p.m. to the 500 block of South 14th Street, Illinois State Police said. They found a woman who had been shot several times, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly after that, officers were told about a man who had been shot dead in the 600 block of South 15th Street, about a quarter of a mile away. St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. did not immediately respond to a request for the identities of the shooting victims.
