VELDA CITY — A woman was shot and killed here late Wednesday and a suspect in the shooting taken into custody, police said. The shooting occurred shortly before 8 p.m. in the 7000 block of Lexington Avenue, St. Louis County Police said. Responding police officers found a woman dead at the scene. Investigators took a male suspect into custody, police said.
