Phillip Armstrong

A Granite City woman was charged this week with killing her boyfriend. Tara Anderson, 37, faces multiple murder charges and gun felonies in the killing of Phillip Armstrong. On Sunday, police say officers found Armstrong fatally shot, lying on the road in the 1400 block of Madison Avenue. Investigators say Anderson and Armstrong were in a "dating relationship" in a press release on Tuesday. Court records show Anderson was previously convicted of drug dealing and possession charges. She is awaiting a detention hearing at Madison County Jail. Authorities have not released any additional information about the case.
