Ricardo Correa

Two men were shot dead early Sunday in a parking lot here, following a fight at a nearby tavern between one man and group of men. Ricardo Correa, 20, of Collinsville, and Rodolfo Torres-Granado, of Granite City, were pronounced dead around 1 a.m. at the scene in the 100 block of West Main Street. Witnesses told Collinsville police an earlier fight inside Sloan’s Pub House separated but that the altercation reignited in the parking lot behind Sloan’s. Witnesses told police that the group of men, including Correa and Torres-Granado, came out of their vehicles with firearms and attempted to break the windows of a Dodge Charger occupied by the lone male and a female acquaintance. Another physical fight broke out between the parties. “It was then reported the occupant of the Dodge Charger discharged multiple rounds from his own firearm, striking Correa and Torres-Granado,” Collinsville police Maj. Brett Boerm said in a press release. Boerm said two men were still in custody Sunday night, the shooter and one of the men from the group. The investigation is ongoing.
