Damonte’ Hawthorne

Damonte’ Hawthorne, 27, was shot about 5 a.m. Sunday in the 3200 block of North 20th Street, near the boundary of the Hyde Park and Old North St. Louis neighborhoods. Police found Hawthorne in the street and he was pronounced dead at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Hawthorne lived in the 2800 block of Meramec Street. A 27-year-old suspect later surrendered at police headquarters.
