Demarko Henderson

Demarko Henderson, 31, was killed by his father inside a home in the Kingsway West neighborhood on the evening of April 30, according to St. Louis prosecutors. Prosecutors charged the victim's father, 48-year-old Tekeia Henderson, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Demarko Henderson was found inside a home in the 5100 block of Lexington Avenue. His 11-year-old daughter went to a neighbor's home to report that her grandfather had just killed her father, police said in court records. The girl told police she saw her grandfather kill her father during a verbal dispute, police said. Tekeia Henderson's girlfriend said she was aware of the dispute but was in a separate room. She told police she heard Tekeia Henderson say, "I'm going to shoot you," followed by two gunshots. Two years ago, Tekeia Henderson had shot his son in the leg two years ago but was never charged in that offense, police said. When police questioned him last week about Demarko Henderson's death, he admitted that he shot his son but said it was an accident, police said.
