Deonte Anderson

A man was killed and a pregnant woman was injured in a shooting early Wednesday morning in the Glasgow Village area of north St. Louis County. County police said Deonte Anderson, 21, of the 2300 block of Old Hanley Road in North County, was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The woman, whose name and age were not released, was taken to a hospital with injuries, police said. The unborn child was not harmed, police said. The incident took place shortly after midnight in the 200 block of Estridge Road. A man who was 16 at the time of the shooting was charged in January 2026. In September, prosecutors dropped the charges. Mike Bradley, spokesperson for the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, said that as prosecutors reviewed the case, they realized they had a self-defense issue. A probable cause statement in that case said the teen was invited to the house by a woman living there. The teen and the woman were in a front room when Anderson entered the home and found them. The statement said after an argument, the teen shot Anderson, who was unarmed.
