A man has died after being shot Saturday in the north St. Louis neighborhood of Baden, authorities said. St. Louis police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Ponce Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Saturday and transported a man to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police identified the man as Elliott Smith Jr., 27, of the 1600 block of Castle Park in north St. Louis County.
