Frederick Anthony Sims

Florissant man was shot to death at a birthday party in Pagedale over the weekend in a dispute involving his wife, authorities allege. The victim is identified in court papers as Frederick Anthony Sims. Police said Sims, 58, died at a hospital after being shot Saturday in the 1500 block of Faris Avenue. St. Louis County prosecutors charged Darrell Roy Proudie with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Proudie, 72, lives in the 1500 block of Faris Avenue, where the shooting happened. Pagedale police Detective Stevie Lowman said Sims and Sims' wife were at a birthday party at the home on Faris. Authorities didn't say who the party was for, but said Proudie was there. During the party, Proudie made "several public and lewd advances toward the victim's wife," Lowman said in court papers. Sims confronted Proudie and, when Sims tripped and fell, Proudie pulled a gun, police said. Proudie then fatally shot Sims, police said. When officers got to the home early Saturday, they found Sims lying in the stairs behind the home. Sims was pronounced dead at a hospital.
