Jerome Huntley

A man found dead in an alley Tuesday night in St. Louis had been set on fire in the city's Walnut Park East neighborhood, police said. Jerome Huntley was discovered about 10 p.m. Tuesday in an alley in the 4900 block of Thrush Avenue, shortly after a report of gunfire. Fire crews put out the fire before police arrived. They reported supposed sudden death after extinguishing the fire and realizing there was a body, said Evita Caldwell, a St. Louis police spokesperson. Medics pronounced Huntley dead at the scene. Huntley also suffered from other unspecified injuries, police said. Huntley, 47, lived in the 5000 block of Cote Brilliante Avenue.
