A man was charged Friday afternoon with felony murder in the shooting death of his teenage accomplice during an assault. Ch'Yance Ford, 18, is facing charges of second-degree murder, second-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence. Police say Ford and 16-year-old Jordan Howard went to a home on Abott Drive on Sunday and showed the residents their guns. While there, police said the two began punching one of the residents and hitting the person with their guns. Another resident shot and killed Howard during the assault, police said. Ford fled the scene, but came back to "take the gun from the body" of Howard, according to charging documents. He was arrested Thursday, said Berkeley Maj. Steve Runge. He's in custody on a $250,000 bond. The men's second-degree murder charges fall under a Missouri law that says a person can be charged with felony murder if someone is killed as a result of or during the commission of another felony crime.
