St. Louis County police have identified the 16-year-old boy who was killed in Bellefontaine Neighbors early Saturday morning. Karmel Graham, of the 4600 block of Enright Avenue in St. Louis, was shot around 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Oran Drive in Bellefontaine Neighbors. Michael Tolden, 46, of the same block of Oran Drive, was arrested Saturday and charged with first degree murder, first degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held on a cash-only $1 million bond. Tolden confessed to the shooting, police said. A juvenile witness told police that he, Graham and an unidentified third person had stopped in the block to "check vehicles." When they saw the suspect point his gun at them, they ran back into their car. Tolden then allegedly shot into the car several times, killing Graham, the witness said.
