Kathleen Leverenz

Robert Leverenz called 911 just before 10 a.m. and told authorities that he tried to murder his wife, police wrote in charging documents. He told them he had choked her and hit her with a hammer "several times." Officers went to the home in the 4200 block of Leeshore Drive and arrested Leverenz. They found his wife, 62-year-old Kathleen Leverenz in the bedroom with severe injuries to her head, police said. She was pronounced dead at the residence.
