Kenyatta Brown

Federal marshals this week arrested a Belleville man in the June killing of a Metro East woman in St. Clair County. Robert E. Hyde Jr., 48, was charged with first-degree murder. Hyde is accused of fatally shooting Kenyatta Brown on June 12. Brown, 42, was found shot in the street in the 1300 block of 45th Street in East St. Louis. The St. Clair County state’s attorney charged Hyde the next day, but he was not arrested until Monday when U.S. marshals found Hyde in Caseyville. Hyde is being held in the St. Clair County Jail. Hyde is scheduled for a court appearance on Wednesday afternoon, according to court records.
