Lanija Cooper

A brother and sister were shot dead Sunday morning in a residential area of unincorporated St. Louis County just west of Overland. Police later identified the victims as Marc Rhodes, Jr., 19, and Lanija Cooper, 20, both of the 10700 block of Wurdack Avenue. Rhodes and Cooper are siblings. Police say Lamarr Harris, 19, believed Cooper slashed his girlfriend's tires on Saturday night. Cooper was Harris' ex-girlfriend. Harris took a Lyft about 9:30 a.m. Sunday to Cooper's home in the 10700 block of Wurdack Avenue, police said. He began to argue with Rhodes, Cooper's brother. Rhodes punched Harris in the face, police said, and Harris then pulled out a gun and shot the siblings. Both Cooper and Rhodes died at the scene. Prosecutors later charged Harris with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection to Cooper's death. Harris lives in the 5800 block of Sir Edward Lane in Florissant.
