The St. Louis medical examiner has ruled the death of a woman in the Carondelet neighborhood a homicide, police said Thursday. Lisa Smith, 36, suffered multiple blunt force injuries, authorities said. She was found seriously injured about 10 p.m. July 24 in the 300 block of Bellerive Boulevard, near Minnesota Avenue. She died at a hospital. At first, police thought she was a pedestrian who had been fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver. Homicide detectives are handling the investigation. Smith lived in the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue.
