The man charged with killing a woman in a St. Louis alley after abducting her from her Clayton apartment was dating the woman’s sister and targeted her for a $40,000 settlement in her bank account, court documents say. Anjuan Mosby, 43, abducted Michelle Hampton on Wednesday from her apartment on Whitburn Drive, took her to various banks to withdraw cash, then shot her and left her in a north city alley, authorities said. Michelle Hampton's sister, Samantha, arrived at her sister’s apartment and saw Michelle in the driver’s seat of her SUV with a masked man in the passenger seat, Samantha told the Post-Dispatch. Samantha followed them as they left. A yellow Dodge Ram trailed close behind, she said, with multiple masked men inside. At some point, the passenger in the SUV fired at her, and she stopped following. Authorities said Mosby later took Michelle into the yellow truck. The two, and perhaps others, then drove from bank to bank trying to withdraw thousands in cash — $2,000 from a PNC drive-up window on Page Boulevard and $1,000 at the Bank of America on Lindell Boulevard, court documents say. At 11 a.m. Wednesday, Michelle was found shot to death in an alley in the 4700 block of Greer Avenue. Police said she was shot multiple times.
