Police have reclassified the death Friday of a 39-year-old man in south St. Louis as a homicide. Officers responded to a call just after 9 a.m. in the 5200 block of South Grand Boulevard, near the intersection with Walsh Street in the Dutchtown neighborhood. There were no obvious signs of trauma, police said, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner's office contacted the homicide division on Saturday after finding gunshot wounds on the man's thigh and torso.
