ST. LOUIS — A man died early Tuesday after he was shot several times in the city's Mark Twain neighborhood. Officers were called to Thekla Avenue and North Kingshighway Boulevard just after 3 a.m., police said. They found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Additional information was not immediately available. Several hours before this shooting, at about 8:45 p.m. Monday, a 77-year-old woman was shot in the leg at the same location while sitting on a porch. She survived the shooting and the 30-year-old man she was with was not shot. They told police a man appeared from the alley and opened fire at them. Police have not determined whether the two shootings could be connected.
