BALLWIN — A woman was shot and killed here early Sunday. Officers were called for a report of domestic violence about 1 a.m. to 177 Spring Leigh Court, Ballwin police Officer Mark Reckert said. They found the woman inside a home. She had been shot in her head and later died at a hospital. Reckert said the man suspected of shooting her ran away from the scene. He was arrested several hours later. Police have not identified the victim or suspect, but the man and woman who own the home were in the middle of a divorce that was filed in December, according to online records. In February, a judge signed off on a protection order that required the man to “not commit or threaten to commit domestic violence, stalking, molesting, (and) sexual assault” against the woman. They have one child together, according to court documents.
