A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening in the city's Midtown neighborhood near the Saint Louis University campus. Officers were called about 7:30 p.m. to the 3700 block of Lindell Boulevard, where they found a 21-year-old man shot in his chest. He died at a hospital. Police on Wednesday afternoon said no SLU students were involved in the shooting, which happened inside an apartment at the Coronado Place and Towers. Investigators found drugs at the scene and believe the shooting could have stemmed from a drug deal gone bad, Sgt. Charles Wall said. Investigators are gathering surveillance footage and on Wednesday were still determining the victim's relation to the apartment. Officers do not think he lived where the shooting happened.
