A 20-year-old man has been charged with felony child abuse in connection with the death of his 4-month-old daughter Monday in the city's Downtown West neighborhood. Court records said the defendant, Jordan J. Greene, of the 1500 block of Olive Street, was being held without bond Friday in the case. According to a probable cause statement, an autopsy performed Tuesday revealed significant head and torso trauma, including radiating skull fractures, "all of which indicate abuse." Police said the girl's mother told officers that the defendant was home alone with the girl and that when the mother returned, the defendant said the child was asleep. When she later went to wake the child, she discovered the girl was cold and they called EMS. Greene faces a charge of abuse or neglect of a child resulting in death. Greene also was charged with statutory sodomy.
