A man was shot dead Wednesday night in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood of St. Louis. Police were called to the 1800 block of Coleman Street shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday. They found the 40-year-old man shot in the street. Medics declared him dead at the scene. Officers brought in a canine to track a suspect. The area is northeast of Grand Boulevard and Cass Avenue in north St. Louis. Authorities had not identified the victim, as of Thursday afternoon. Police spokeswoman Evita Caldwell said investigators don't have a suspect.
