Reginald Dukes, 64, was found dead in his north St. Louis apartment. The medical examiner later determined he had internal neck injuries consistent with strangulation. Dukes' body was found by police shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after they received a call for help at the apartment, in the 3000 block of North 25th Street in the St. Louis Place neighborhood. Ganell Harley, 52, was charged with Dukes' death in March 2025. According to court documents, witnesses told police they saw Harley get into a fight with Dukes the night before he was discovered dead. A witness told police Harley was angry and yelling as she entered Dukes' apartment. Another witness said that Harley admitted she had "messed up" and choked Dukes, according to police.
