Taaj Bell

Police on Wednesday said Taaj Bell, 25, of St. Louis, was the man found shot to death around noon Tuesday in the 4100 block of Peck Street in the Fairground neighborhood. Police said a preliminary investigation determined that Bell, who was found on the sidewalk, had been involved in an exchange of gunfire with a 24-year-old man who is the brother of Bell's girlfriend. The woman, 23, who also was shot, was in stable condition at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Her brother was treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder and released. Their names weren't released. Evita Caldwell, a police spokeswoman, said police believe that the shootings "were domestic in nature" and that the investigation was continuing.
