A man was shot and killed Wednesday evening in Imperial, Jefferson County Sheriff's office announced Thursday morning. Police identified the suspect as 20-year-old Chaptur James Wagoner of Arnold. The victim, Timothy Geitz, was found dead Wednesday in the driver's seat of a vehicle in the 2400 block of Lombard Lane. Geitz, 43, lived in St. Louis. Wagoner was in custody Thursday at the Jefferson County Jail. He is being held without bond on charges of first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action. In court papers, Detective Jason Perkins of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department said officers found two witnesses and were told about Wagoner. Investigators said Wagoner had been upset with Geitz and others and was chasing their car. Wagoner told police he entered the subdivision twice to find Geitz. When he spotted him the second time, Wagoner fired the shot, police said.
