A man was found dead inside a Tower Grove South home after a standoff and shootout with police. Officers were called about 9:30 p.m. to a shooting near Hartford Street and Bent Avenue, police said. They found 55-year-old Elizabeth Colletta shot dead on a porch. Walter Young, 50, was inside the home and refused to come out, police said. After a standoff, Young began shooting at police, who returned fire. Officers released gas into the residence and then found Young dead inside the home, police said. Authorities did not say Tuesday morning if the officers' shots killed him. Five officers fired shots during the incident. They're all men and range in age from 26 to 55 years old. They were not injured.
