Andre Jackson

St. Louis police say Kelvin Williams, 39, and Andre Jackson, 41, attempted to rob a man just after 7 a.m. on Aug. 12 in the 4900 block of San Francisco Avenue. The man told police that when he arrived home, the two men emerged from a vacant house with guns and said they were robbing him, according to court documents. The man then shot at the robbers, he told police. Jackson was shot and killed. The man gave officers the gun he used to kill Jackson, court records say. He also recognized Williams and gave investigators Williams' cell phone number. His phone data placed him in the area at the time of the robbery, police said. The man later picked Williams out of a lineup, charging documents say. Williams is charged with second-degree murder, attempted first-degree robbery, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawfully possessing a gun. He was arrested Friday and is in custody without bond. His second-degree murder charge falls under a Missouri law that says a person can be charged with felony murder if someone is killed as a result of or during the commission of another felony crime.
