Darion Reed

Police said Reed was struck in the neck as he drove near South Kingshighway and Connecticut Street about 4 p.m. on Aug. 23. Witnesses told police that Reed had left the QuikTrip store at South Kingshighway and Fyler Avenue moments before being shot. The witnesses saw Reed's car stopped on South Kingshighway and realized he had been shot. Court documents did not indicate a motive for the shooting. Kenneth Dotson, 25, was charged Wednesday with firing the shot that killed 24-year-old Darion Reed. Dotson was held without bond on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
