Eric Baker

Eric Baker was shot and killed on a residential street in Jennings. Police responded to the area for a ShotSpotter activation, a gunshot detection system. They found shell casings in the area. Later, a local hospital contacted police to tell them a man who had been shot was pronounced dead upon arrival at the emergency room. Deandre Coleman, 18, is charged in the murder. Investigators determined that Coleman was outside the vehicle and shot Baker twice, according to court records. Coleman fired a third round, but missed, police said. Police also said an infant was in the car when the bullets were fired but was not hit. Court records don't elaborate on a motive.
