Gary Smith

Gary Smith, 33, was shot and killed. Smith was the passenger in a vehicle when two men fired shots into the car, killing him. Kelvin Allen, 39, and Orland L. Taylor, 37, are charged with first-degree murder. Police say the motive for the murder was over a parenting dispute, but did not elaborate. Police said Allen and Taylor were in a Genesis G70 sedan that pulled alongside a car Smith was riding in. Taylor used a rifle to fire shots into the car, charges allege. Before the shooting, Allen fired a shot at a QuikTrip where the argument began and hit another man. Allen and Taylor then left the gas station, following Smith, according to the criminal complaint.
