Genaro Carbajal

Tyrea Rowe, 27, pulled into a parking space in the 2800 block of Cherokee Street at about 5:30 p.m., St. Louis police wrote in his charging documents. Moments later, someone drove by and sideswiped Rowe's car, police wrote. Rowe got out of his car and opened fire on the moving car, court records say. The driver, a 26-year-old man, was hit and later died at a hospital. Police later identified him as Genaro Carbajal, 26. Rowe was arrested at the scene of the shooting and charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of armed criminal action and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. The shooting was caught on surveillance camera, police wrote. Once arrested, Rowe told officers that he didn't know who was in the car "but believed that he was being attacked by someone who had been making threats against the mother of his children, who was in the vehicle at the time of the accident," court documents say.
