Henry Armstrong, 20, was shot inside a Schnucks grocery store. Exzavier Marcell Ellis, 17, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. According to police, both Ellis and Armstrong were at the grocery store when Armstrong tried to punch the person Ellis was with. Ellis pulled a gun and started shooting at Armstrong, St. Louis police Detective Jarred Thacker said in court documents. Armstrong ran and Ellis chased him, and the two tripped over a display and fell to the ground, Thacker said. Before Armstrong could get up, Ellis jumped up and shot him at point-blank range, according to court documents. Armstrong died of his injuries at a hospital.
