Jose Williams

50-year-old Jose Williams lived in the 6300 block of Glenmore Avenue in Uplands Park. He was shot at North Kingshighway and St. Louis Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. Police found Williams on the ground in the 2900 block of Kingshighway. He died at a hospital. According to court documents, Ginger and Williams were on a street corner with a group of people. They got into a quarrel and Ginger pulled a pistol. Williams moved toward Ginger, and Ginger shot him, police said. Ginger told police he shot Williams "when emotion took over and hoped he would hit him in the shoulder," police said. Ginger has a conviction for domestic assault in 2009. Demetrice Ginger, 54, was charged Saturday with voluntary manslaughter, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.
