Kenneth L. Whitehorn

Kenneth L. Whitehorn, 58, was shot and killed. Police have charged three suspects in connection with Whitehorn's death: DeWayne Franklin, Michael E. McCollum and Brittany Howard. Police said Howard shot Whitehorn in the head. Court documents say that the killers were riding around in McCollum's car, using drugs they had stolen, when Howard got out of the car and shot Whitehorn. Franklin provided the gun and tried to hide it after the killing, prosecutors said. He also threatened McCollum to have him dispose of evidence as well, according to officials. McCollum drove home and cleaned his car to prevent police from finding any evidence, court documents said. Police are still searching for Howard. Franklin and Howard are both charged with first-degree murder, while McCollum is charged with obstructing justice and aggravated unlawful possession of a handgun. Police did not say what connection Whitehorn to the three people charged in his death.
