A man shot his wife to death in their Hazelwood home, then killed himself, police said. The murder-suicide was discovered Tuesday night when police climbed through a second-floor window at the couple's home on Rivermeadows Drive, said Hazelwood police Capt. Norman Mars. Mars confirmed to the Post-Dispatch that the husband was Joseph Gray, 53, and the wife was Natasha Gray, 48. According to online court files, Joseph Gray filed for divorce in March. He withdrew his petition in April. An autopsy determined that the wife had been dead longer but was unable to pinpoint how long they were dead, Mars said. An adult daughter had tried to contact her mother on Sunday for Mother's Day but was unable to reach her, Mars said. By Tuesday, after two more days without contact, relatives called police asking them to check on the couple's well-being. Mars said an officer met the relatives at the home and climbed through the unlocked window and found the bodies.
