Ophelia Lawery-Daniels

Ophelia Lawery-Daniels, a 9-month-old girl, was shot and killed in a murder-suicide. Her mother, Micah Lawery, described the girl as "fearless" and a jokester. Lawery said that Ophelia was an active and energetic baby, and she had learned to pull herself up to a stand. She was also ready to walk, according to her mother. Lawery identified the shooter as Zacchaeus Daniels, the baby's father. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the girl was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Lawery said the only motive she could think of for the shooting was a "built-up resentment" Daniels had since the two were not a couple.
