Jordan Neal, 9, and his siblings were riding in a car with their parents and two of their siblings on Union Boulevard in north St. Louis at around 9 p.m. May 24. As their father turned into a gas station, their vehicle nearly collided with a maroon sedan. That vehicle appeared again minutes later as the car approached Bircher Boulevard and Ruskin Avenue just north of Interstate 70 in the city's Mark Twain neighborhood. Someone in the vehicle opened fire. Jordan died from his injuries immediately after the shooting. Richard Neal died in October from his injuries. Their father was also shot and injured. Months later, police Lt. John Blaskiewicz with the city's homicide division said authorities had received just one tip since the shooting. It occurred in an area that doesn't have many cameras, Blakiewicz explained, making it difficult to find more details without witnesses or video recordings. "The investigation has stalled, but it hasn't stopped," he said. "We just need some help at this time."
